- The reason I am writing this Blog is that I really appreciate the efforts my grandfather went to keep such a meticulous record of the events of the time. I feel very proud of him and eternally grateful for the price he and others paid for our freedom. I intend to add entries as they appear dated in his diary so look out for his first entry following the summary on January 1st
My grandfather flew in the same squadron as LV James and they were good friends. I have a photo which I think is of him as best man at my grandparents' wedding (November 1941).
